COURSE OUTCOMES

After successful completion of all theory and practical assessments students will be provided with a Statement of Attainment. This can be produced to the Motor Vehicle Registry (MVR) office for issue of a personalized ID Card which costs $30 for certification. Northern Territory certification is valid for three years from the date of issue.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is a mandatory requirement on all NT Government Specifications and Contracts for works within NT Government controlled road reserves, throughout the NT. This course will give participants the theory and practical skills required to Escort Mobile Works Operations on roads ensuring traffic flow is maintained and risk to the safety of the public and workers is minimised.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Pre course Preparation -  Prior to the course participants are encouraged to make ETAS trainers aware of any specific learning requirements (Foundation Skills) to ensure learning strategies are discussed, developed and implemented to achieve maximum participation, capacity and capability during training sessions. All course participants will need to have sound Numeracy, Self– management and Writing, skills to complete this learning program - Note: this is a high risk work area! Course Attendance Requirements -  You are required to bring with you on the day
  1. General Construction Induction Training card (NT White Card or interstate equivalent).
  2. Australian motor vehicle driver's licence.
  3. Current WZ2 & WZ3 MVR cards

ASSESSMENT

All participants will be required to read and interpret Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) before implementing mobile works onsite. This also includes completing calculations and written activities throughout the training session. On completion of the theory workshop participants will be required to Implement and control traffic for a minimum of three (3) separate live road projects. These could be Escort vehicle, Vehicle mounted signage, Temporary signage for the benefit of motorists and pedestrians, Traffic conditions signage, and or Highway traffic signs and or Site safety signage.

What is an RTO?
An RTO is a Registered Training Organisation, a registered training provider to deliver vocational education and training services. As an RTO, Workzone is a certified provider of nationally recognised training and qualifications.


Will I be offered a job after completing a course with ETAS ?

Do I have to attend in person?

Can I use CITB Funding?
To receive the CITB training subsidy you will need a valid CITB number.  Courses eligible for CITB funding will allow you to book with your CITB Number to receive the contribution against your course fee.  More details about training subsidies can be found here.
