Upon completing this course, you'll gain the skills to implement safe traffic management plans, use communication systems, identify hazards, apply relevant regulations, and collaborate with traffic control personnel. Additionally, you'll acquire knowledge of relevant legislation, temporary traffic management principles, risk management, WHS implementation, signaling procedures, sign and device procedures, radio operations, equipment types and limitations, and site responsibilities, enabling you to effectively and safely manage traffic while adhering to regulations and working with others in this field.

Workzone Traffic Management involves the management of traffic through, around and past roadwork sites whilst balancing the safety needs of both workers and road users such as drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. In the Northern Territory, the Department of Infrastructure Planning and Logistics (DIPL) govern the safe undertaking of Work Zone Traffic Management. DIPL require you to undertake a refresher course every three years


ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE ORIGINAL PHOTO ID UPON ARRIVING FOR THE COURSE. Participants will need a level of language and literacy skills to enable them to meet the requirements of the course: Numeracy skills to:
  • Apply basic mathematical problem solving processes, including simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Oral communication skills to:
  • Present information and provide assistance using industry specific vocabulary
  • Use listening and questioning to clarify and confirm understanding
  • Listen to short, explicit instructions for work procedures and ask questions to clarify and confirm
Reading skills to:
  • Identify and interpret information from workplace procedures, documentation, legislation and regulations
Technology skills to:
  • Identify purposes, specific functions and key features of common digital systems and tools and operate them as required
Writing skills to:
  • Produce and complete workplace reports, including risk management matrices
  • Produce and complete workplace reports using appropriate vocabulary, grammatical structures and conventions

This course is delivered and assessed face to face. There are theory and practical training and assessment components to the course



What is an RTO?
An RTO is a Registered Training Organisation, a registered training provider to deliver vocational education and training services. As an RTO, Workzone is a certified provider of nationally recognised training and qualifications.

Do I have to attend in person?

Can I use CITB Funding?
